چکیده

Noise through its interaction with the nonlinearity of the living systems can give rise to counter-intuitive phenomena. In this paper we shortly review noise induced effects in different ecosystems, in which two populations compete for the same resources. We also present new results on spatial patterns of two populations, while modeling real distributions of anchovies and sardines. The transient dynamics of these ecosystems are analyzed through generalized LotkaVolterra equations in the presence of multiplicative noise, which models the interaction between the species and the environment. We find noise induced phenomena such as quasi-deterministic oscillations, stochastic resonance, noise delayed extinction, and noise induced pattern formation. In addition, our theoretical results are validated with experimental findings. Specifically the results, obtained by a coupled map lattice model, well reproduce the spatial distributions of anchovies and sardines, observed in a marine ecosystem. Moreover, the experimental dynamical behavior of two competing bacterial populations in a meat product and the probability distribution at long times of one of them are well reproduced by a stochastic microbial predictive model.

Effect of random telegraph noise on entanglement and nonlocality of a qubit-qutrit system

We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocalit...

Damage of the normal tissue is a serious concenrn in cancer treatment. Hyperthermia by laserhas been considered as a safe cancer treatments methods with lower harmful effects on normaltissues. Using nanoparticles in cancer treatment has improved laser therapy, which is based ona selective cell targeting method to localize cell damages. Metallic nanoparticles such as gold, silver, and copper have...

Noise Induced Synchronization on Collective Dynamics of Citrus Production

It is very common to observe nonlinear features in agricultural and ecological systems. For example, in tree crop production, alternate bearing is well known phenomena caused by nonlinear dynamics. Production of single tree of Citrus Unshiu trees is recognized to be driven by a mechanistic process modeled with the so-called “resource budget model”, which demonstrates phenomenon of alternate bea...

Noise in ecosystems: a short review.

Noise, through its interaction with the nonlinearity of the living systems, can give rise to counter-intuitive phenomena such as stochastic resonance, noise-delayed extinction, temporal oscillations, and spatial patterns. In this paper we briefly review the noise-induced effects in three different ecosystems: (i) two competing species; (ii) three interacting species, one predator and two preys,...

Modulation Response and Relative Intensity Noise Spectra in Quantum Cascade Lasers

Static properties, relatively intensity noise and intensity modulation response in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) studied theoretically in this paper. The present rate equations model consists of three equations for the electrons density in the conduction band and one equation for photons density in cavity length. Two equations were derived to calculate the noise and modulation response. Calcula...
